Diversity, Immigration and Integration - banner image

The focus of the Diversity, Immigration and Integration research program is on the economic and social integration of newcomers to Canada over the medium and long terms and related policies. As immigration becomes the primary source of labour force and population growth, it is important to better understand the factors that have led to the deterioration of immigrant labour market outcomes in the past two decades, and the economic and social barriers newcomers face. Our research also considers the determinants of success for children of immigrants, the impact of recent changes to Canada's immigration policies, and questions of racism and discrimination that arise as a result of the growing diversity of Canadian society.
